The theatre program at North Cross engages 和 inspires students in the classroom 和 on stage from third grade all the way to their senior year. We offer training 和 engaging opportunities for all theatre lovers, whether it be performing or working behind the scenes. We promote the wonder of storytelling through our fall 和 spring musical productions, 和 the annual winter play. 上学校 students are also given the opportunity to take theatre term classes, which include: Introduction to 剧院, Technical 剧院 Production, 和代理.
Our younger students in 较低的学校 are given the opportunity to shine on our mainstage each year with our Fall Musical. 学生s in grades 3-5 have the choice to participate, 和 they're often guided by Middle 和 上学校 students who serve as the technical crew, 舞台经理, assistant directors, 和/or choreographers. Past productions include 冷冻小. 和 The Wizard of Oz: Young Performer’s Edition. The Winter Play is performed by students of the 上学校. 每年, a Shakespearean or other classic play is selected 和 students are invited to audition for roles. Many other students are involved in the production of the play as well, which includes constructing the set 和 working the soundboard 和 lights. This performance gives the students involved an opportunity to bring a literary work out of the pages of a book 和 onto the stage, for which it was actually intended. The entire school community benefits from seeing a world-class play performed on our own stage by our own students. Most recently, audiences were stunned by the students' production of 的坩埚. Rounding out our theatrical season in the spring, Middle 和 上学校 students are given the opportunity to put on a full-length Broadway-style musical. Recent productions have included 走进森林, Little Shop of Horrors, 和 most recently, 不老泉. What the students bring to life through their performance 和/or production skills is a sight to be seen. While the 较低的学校 musical introduces younger students to the process of bringing a performance to life, the Middle 和 上学校 musical is dedicated to enriching our students in their creative 和 artistic pursuits. |
